Terms of service

These terms explain how our services work and what you and Alvis Travels can expect from each other. By booking with us or using this website, you agree to them. If anything is unclear, contact us before you book.

1. Who we are

Alvis Travels is a tourism company in Sri Lanka. We offer private tours, airport and city transfers, and car rental. You can reach us at alvistravels@gmail.com or on +94 77 66 00 120 and +94 74 0148 237.

2. Our services

We provide private tours, transfers and car rental in Sri Lanka. What is included in each service is described on its product page. Anything not listed there is not included. Hotels, meals, entrance tickets, safari jeeps and tips are not included unless the product page says so.

3. Bookings and payment

A booking is confirmed once we confirm it to you by email and receive your payment or deposit.
Prices are shown in Sri Lankan rupees unless we tell you otherwise.
Prices on the website are starting prices for the options shown. If you ask for changes, such as a longer route or a larger vehicle, we will tell you the final price before you pay.
Please check your booking details carefully and tell us straight away if something is wrong.

4. Cancellations, changes and refunds

Our Cancellation and Refund Policy explains what happens if you cancel or change a booking. It forms part of these terms.

5. Your responsibilities

Make sure you have a valid passport, visa and any other documents needed to enter and travel in Sri Lanka.
Give us correct information, including your names, number of travellers, flight details and pick-up addresses.
Be ready at the agreed time and place. If you are late or cannot be reached, we may not be able to wait.
Follow the reasonable instructions of your driver and guide, especially about safety.
Respect local customs. Dress modestly at temples and other religious sites.
Tell us before you travel about any health condition, mobility need or dietary requirement that could affect your trip.

6. Safety and risk

Travel in Sri Lanka involves some risk, including busy roads, wildlife, weather and uneven ground at sites. We take care to keep you safe, but you take part in activities such as climbs, hikes and safaris at your own risk, as far as the law allows. We recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation, illness and accidents. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.

7. Changes to your trip

Weather, road conditions, closures and safety concerns can affect a trip. We may change the route, timing or order of stops when we need to. We will tell you as soon as we can and do our best to keep your trip as close to the plan as possible.

8. Car rental

Car rental may have extra conditions, such as driver licence and age requirements, a deposit, insurance, fuel, distance limits and responsibility for damage or fines. We will tell you these before you confirm your rental.

9. Our responsibility

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill. We use independent suppliers for some things, such as hotels, ticket offices and safari operators, and we are not responsible for what they do. We are not responsible for delays or changes caused by things outside our control, such as severe weather, strikes, road closures or government action. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that cannot be limited.
